Israeli Warplanes Bomb Border Tunnels

JERUSALEM - Israeli warplanes have bombed tunnels beneath the border between Gaza and Egypt after Palestinian militants fired rockets.

The Israeli military confirmed Saturday’s strikes near Rafah, but provided no further details. It launched the bombing raids after the militant group, the Palestinian Resistance Committees fired three rockets into Israel without causing any casualties.

Israel also launched air strikes on Friday after Palestinian militants in Gaza fired rockets.

Militant rocket fire on Israel has decreased since Egypt has been mediating between Israel and Hamas militants who rule the Gaza Strip.

Israel launched a three-week military offensive into Gaza in late December, saying it wanted to stop cross-border rockets attacks by Hamas.
